Description Tab

Spell Item Description Tab (SR5 v0.16.1, FVTT v11.315)

The Description Tab is common to all Item sheets. Hovering over the text shows the  Edit button, which brings up Foundry's standard ProseMirror editing tools, the same ones available when editing Journals. It provides a place to transcribe the rules from the sourcebooks for quick reference, include personal details of character elements, or jot down other gameplay noes.

Spell Tab

Spell Item Spell Tab (SR5 v0.16.1, FVTT v11.315)

The Spell Tab functions in a similar manner to the Action Tab, but specifically configured for the Spellcasting Workflows.

  • Category is one of the five spell types, and controls the display and selection of spell type descriptors at the bottom of the Spell section.
    • Combat adds a single field to select Direct or Indirect, affecting which Spellcasting Workflow is used.
    • Detection adds a field to select one of Active or Passive, one of Directional, and a checkbox to identify if the spell is Extended or not. It is for display purposes only.
    • Health provides no addition descriptor options.
    • Illusion gives a choice between Obvious or Realistic and Multi-Sense or Single-Sense. They have no mechanical effect.
    • Manipulation reveals four checkboxes: Damaging, Mental, Environmental, and Physical. They have no mechanical effect.
  • Type is one of Physical or Mana.
  • Range is one of Touch, LoS, or LoS (A).[git 1]
  • Duration is one of Instant, Template:Coe, or Permanent.
  • Drain Value is actively used in the Drain Resistance Test.

Effects Tab

Action Item Effect Tab (SR5 v0.16.1, FVTT v11.315)

The Effects Tab is where Active Effects are configured. The image to the right shows the tab as it appears on an Action Item, but it functions the same wherever it appears.

  • Temporary Effects includes any enabled Effect with a duration. Such Effects will also show an icon on the Actor's token, if the Effect itself has an icon set.
  • Persistent Effects shows enabled Effects with no duration.
  • Inactive Effects are disabled and have no impact on any Actor properties.

Note that Active Effects inside an Item cannot be edited if the Item is on an Actor. They can only be altered if the Item is in the Items Directory in the sidebar or a Compendium.
